Fabrics of Life, the brainchild of Professor Amanda Fisher (Director, MRC Clinical Sciences Centre), started as a collaboration between scientists at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre and designers at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. A series of pioneering schemes such as Nobel Textiles endeavours to celebrate scientific discovery and explore the medium of art and design as a novel tool for public engagement.
