We’ve had a great couple of months, recording our new album at the Cowshed studio, who we heartily recommend – a very pleasurable experience in all. We even had energy left for a night of Karaoke after one of our ten-hour studio days! In between we’ve had time to perform at the Festival of Britain in May and a charity show at St George’s Church, Bloomsbury to support Japan in April. Now we are busily preparing for the launch of our new album, Sé: Songs from the Six Celtic Nations, on 19th September 2011 at the Green Note in Camden. And sadly, we say goodbye to Evrah, who has been with Rún since its formation in 2007.
March 2011
Well, they say no news is good news. And we can vouch for that, as we beaver away behind closed doors in preparation for recording our debut album. Yes, this May we’re taking refuge in the Cowshed to commit some of our sounds to shiny disc. So we’ll be gearing up for the launch later this year. Watch this space!
January 2011
Lovely to be back in the foyer of our favourite venue, the Royal Festival Hall: see photos of our recent pan-celtic performance.
December 2010
We’ve recently come out of hiding to perform for a charity supporting cancer patients and at London’s Southbank Centre with our newest member, Ciara Holland. Our brand new repertoire brings Manx, Cornish and Breton songs to compliment our Irish and Scots Gaelic ditties.
July 2010
Well, from Lambeth Country Show:

and then Rhythms of the World Festival:

we’ve been having a gay old time of it this July.
June 2010
When we weren’t off down with the pigs, sheep and cows at Surrey Docks Farm, we were rocking out down at Crawley Folk Festival.
May 2010
We’ve had a great wee May Day bank holiday festival tour, which took us to Locko Park, where we serenaded lions and dragons, Upton Folk Festival, where we camped with Morris men and back to London’s Royal Festival Hall to sing to unsuspecting Southbank Centre visitors in a lift as part of Chorus! 2010.
